Panguil Bay Bridge Project



During the visit of PGMA for opening of the Ozamiz City Airport, she also signed a memorandum of agreement for the development of the Panguil Bay Bridge Project to connect the western provinces of misamis occidental and zamboanga del norte, zamboanga del sur, lanao del note, particulalry the cities of ozamiz, tangub, and iligan, and thus, hasten the exchange of trade and commerce in the western and cental region of mindanao.

The project was spearheaded by the Panguil Bay Development Consortium, the local government units (LGUs) of the provinces of Misamis Occidental, especially Tangub City, and the municipality of Tubod in Lanao Del Norte to establish an entity with the aim of helping each other in promoting the Panguil Bay Bridge Project.

For now, this project remains to be in blueprint the realization of which depends on the determination and cooperation of the consortium members and the financial support of the administration.

2.9-km Ozamiz Coastal Bypass Road finally opens

"The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the 2.935-kilometer Ozamis Coastal Bypass Road that now serves as a diversion road from the busy main roads of Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental. DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said DPWH Misamis Occidental 2nd District Engineering Office headed by District Engineer Carol Lyn C. Abinales recently inaugurated the road section, which was constructed in the amount of P138 million. The new Ozamis Coastal Bypass Road traverses the city’s Barangay Bongbong, Malaubang, and San Roque then to Port Road, which can be used by motorists without using Ozamis-Pagadian Road and Vicente Ostia Avenue,” said DE Abinales. DE Abinales added that they are also proposing for the extension of the coastal bypass road up to Barangay Catadman, to provide further convenience in traveling around the Ozamiz City.
